Chris Evans spent 12 hours in that box as a sponsored event in support of  The Butterfly Garden. We were hoping this Easter to complete 250 metres of pathway to provide wheelchair access to a wildlife garden.
This event would see it happen, and it sure did !

This was the agenda for that fateful day :-
  • AT 8.00 AM A LONE SCOTTISH PIPER WILL PIPE CHRIS INTO THE BOX.
THE PHONE WILL RING TO CONFIRM HIS ARRIVAL
  • JUST AFTER 8.00 AM A TEAM OF LANDSCAPERS WILL ARRIVE AND THEY WILL BUILD A GARDEN AROUND THE BOX.
  • AT APROXIMATELY 9.00 AM THE POSTMAN WILL CALL TO DELIVER MAIL
  • SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE BOX WILL BE FITTED WITH CARPET.
  • AT 11.00, CHRIS WILL TAKE DELIVERY OF THE PHONE BOX CAKE. A SUBSTANTIAL (15X15 SQUARE) DONATED COMMEMORATIVE CAKE WHICH IS TO BE RAFFLED.
  • AT 12.00 NOON THE PIPER WILL RETURN.
  • AT 2.00 PM THE THEATRE COMPANY ' PHONE BOX PRODUCTIONS' WILL ARRIVE AND AT 2.15 PM THERE WILL BE A PERFORMANCE OF THE CLASSIC "A PHOENIX TOO FREQUENT" FROM THE BOX.
  • AT 3.00 PM THE MAYOR OF TEWKESBURY COUNCILLOR PAUL OCKELTON WILL CALL AND TAKE AFTERNOON TEA IN THE BOX.
  • AT 5.00 PM A MYSTERY GUEST WILL CALL IN
  • AT 8.00 PM THE PIPER WILL RETURN AND WILL PLAY A LAMENT TO THE DEPARTED AND CHRIS WILL LEAVE THE BOX.

The day was filled with spontaneous visitors who had heard about the event,
"it was a very powerful experience, the support shown was totally amazing..."
